VIAS Desktop / Lavalier microphone Review

I purchased this microphone to use for videos that my wife and I create. To get better sound you for recordings, whether for podcasts or just for personal videos, you really have to have an external microphone.

The Good:
- Most importantly it has crystal clear sound.
- Setup is completely cake. It has a traditional microphone plug so there is no issue with setting up this mic, just plug it in and the wizard opens, no special driver needed.
- It has a wonderful little area on the bottom of the mic to wind up the cord and a small groove that holds it to the length you want, nice neat design.
- The headset is super light and very comfortable, I've ran into the office with this on and it didn't budge.
- The stand is very nice and can be positioned in multiple ways.
- It also can come off the stand and has a lapel clip so you can wear it and move around.
- It has a foam windscreen that help keep down the pops from the person speaking and from the wind when outside.

The Bad:
- The only downside I see is actually the flip-side of one of the pros. Because it uses the standard microphone plug you may not be able to use this with some modern computers. One of our laptops and both of our Chromebooks are missing this jack, you have to use a USB mic on them.

My verdict on this product is 5 out of 5 stars. As long as you have a standard microphone jack you won’t find one better.

And finally, in full disclosure, I received a discount on the purchase of this in return for an honest review. Which is fine, as I only do honest reviews.
